SCIP database is ready for use

SCIP database is ready for use
The SCIP database was launched on Oct. 28th. Industry can now submit information on SVHC in articles to the European Chemical Agency (ECHA).

SCIP is the database for information on Substances of Concern In articles as such or in complex objects (Products) established under the Waste Framework Directive (WFD). Companies supplying articles containing substances of very high concern (SVHCs) on the Candidate List in a concentration above 0.1% weight by weight (w/w) on the EU market have to submit information on these articles to the database. The SCIP database aimes to reduce hazardous substances in waste. It can ensure that the information on articles containing Candidate List substances is available throughout the whole lifecycle of products and materials, including at the waste stage.

The Waste Framework Directive requires companies to submit their data as of 5 January 2021. The information in SCIP database is made publicly available. Consumers and waste operators can access and use the data from February 2021 onwards.

Producers outside the EU do not have direct obligations under the Waste Framework Directive (WFD). Phon Tech, as a manufacturer of Thermoplastic Elastomers (TPEs) in Taiwan, can still support our customers with the necessary information about SVHCs.

The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) updates new substances to the Candidate List of Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC) about twice a year.
Phon Tech is committed to complying with the requirements of REACH every year. Our REACH SVHCs assessment reports are certified by testing, inspection and certification companies with international operations for REACH assessment services. According to the test results of our products, all substances content of Very High Concern (SVHC) were not detected and less than 0.1% (w/w).
